Angels in our midst

"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
Hebrews 13:2

Always one of my favorite verses.

The mystery and intrigue of the angels!
Angel Trivia?   Well, angels are anything but trivial.

Angel means messenger.   The angels were created higher than man and are intercessors for man.   They are constantly around us and are guarding and protecting us.    Remembering the angels around you can inspire you to strive for behavior befitting a believer in Christ Jesus.
They're always watching!

The angel Gabriel delivered the message to the shepherds about the birth of baby Jesus and the tidings of good joy to all people.
Gabriel will be the angel who sounds the trumpets when the end of the world comes and Jesus returns.

  He's a very important angel!

Angels are mentioned 173 times in the Bible as having been created probably during the time of Genesis.

There are a great number of Angels in existence and the number never increases or decreases.

Although they have no flesh or bones, they usually  take on the appearance of man---never infants or female.

Other times they are in dazzling white and blazing glory.

That is how I like to think of my angels --dazzling and glorious!

They must have a localized presence and can only be in one place at a time.

Archangels-----Highest form of angels.  The chief angel.

Cherubim--first mentioned in Genesis at the expulsion of Adam and Eve.  Cherubim were to prevent man's access to the tree of life.

They hold  and form the throne God sits upon when he comes to earth.

Seraphim--means fiery ones or burning love

They stand upon the King as he sits on his throne ready to minister to him.  They take the form on humans with wings.

The word Seraphim is also used in conjuction with fiery serpents who were sent to inflict the  penalty of sin  on man
Num. 21:6,8Deut. 8:15

Not all angels are good.   Some are under the power of Satan.  There is great unseen conflict raging in our universe. Our sovereign God  is always in control and will defeat these evil spirits after he has used them for his purposes.

Good always triumphs over evil.
